PC SUPPORT / Programmer II

Nature of Work

Maintains personal computers and servers including related hardware and software. Supports personnel using the network by answering questions and solving problems.  Assists with Daily/Weekly IT operational tasks. Develops new programs and maintains systems under the close supervision of the IT Supervisor.  This is a non-exempt hourly wage position. This position will back-up the IT Supervisor.

Examples of Duties

Installs and configures new PC’s, install/upgrade PC software and maintain related hardware (printers, routers, servers, etc.). Work with a ticket system to address desktop support events. Modify and create programs using high level programming languages. Maintains phones and cell phones, including setup and configuration of new phones and tablets. Virtualization, Network routing, VLANs, VPNs, and network security duties. Data Migration, Application Support, Data Backup/Recovery.  Perform IT operational tasks such as cash application and billing.

DESIRABLE Qualifications

Training and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related preferred. Network security certification preferred.  Some related experience preferred. Exchange Server or Office 365 experience. Prior desktop support experience preferred. Prior programming experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Knowledge of standard information technology practices used in system analysis, documentation, and structured programming techniques; at least one high level language with previous programming experience highly desirable.  Must possess and exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range $49,000 – $67,000 with excellent benefits.
